Materials Needed:

Size E Crochet Hook

Small amount of 4 Ply Yarn – Petal Pink - White

¼" Elastic – 4" long – sewn into a circle

Staring at upper edge – with Petal Pink yarn – ch 22 – join to form a circle – ch 3.

R1: Dc in @ st around – join – ch 3.

R2: Dc the next [2] sts together - dc in the next 5 sts - dc the next [2] sts together - dc in the next 2 sts - dc the next [2] sts together - dc in the next 5 sts - dc the next [2] sts together - dc in the last st - join - ch 3. (18) sts

R3: Dc in the next 5 sts - dc the next [2] sts together - dc in the next 2 sts - dc the next [2] sts together - dc in remaining 6 sts - join - ch 2. (16) sts

R4: * 2 scs in the next st - sc in the next st * - repeat 3 times total - ch 2 - sl st into next 2 sts - ch 2 - sc in next st - repeat *--* 3 times total - join - ch 2.

R5: Sl st into next st - ch 2 - repeat 10 times total - finish off pink yarn - join yarn to the top of next ch 2 with a ch 2 - repeat *--* in remaining sts - finish off pink yarn.

Strap

Join Petal Pink yarn to upper center back st – ch 2 – sc in next 2 sts – ch 8 – skipping next 5 sts – sc in next 6 sts – ch 8 – skipping next 5 sts – sc in last 3 sts – join – finish off.

Sleeves

R1: Join Petal Pink yarn to center underarm st with a ch 3 – dc in @ st around with 2 dcs in @ dc row - join – ch 3. (15) sts

R2: * Dc next 2 sts together * - repeat around – join – ch 3. (8) sts

R3: * Sc – ch 2 * - repeat in @ st around – join – finish off.

Repeat for 2^nd sleeve.

With Petal Pink yarn - ch 2 - working over an elastic circle at the same time - 21 scs - join - ch 3. (22) sts

R1: Dc in @ st around - join - ch 3.

R2: * Working in front loops only - [sc - ch 2] in @ st around (ruffle) - ch 1 - sl st into back loops of same st - ch 3 * - working in back loops only - {2 dcs in the next st - dc in next st} - repeat around - join - ch 3. (33) sts

R3: Repeat R2. (49) sts

R4: Repeat *--* of R2 - working in back loops only - dc in @ st around - join - ch 3.

R5-R12: Repeat R4.

R13: Repeat *--* of R2 - join - finish off pink yarn.

R14: Working in back loops only of R13 - join White yarn to lower center back st with a ch 4 - *sc - ch 3* in @ st around - join - finish off white yarn.

Starting at upper edge – with White yarn – ch 62 loosely – turn – dc in the 4^th ch from hook.

R1: Dc in @ st across - turn - ch 3. (60) sts

R2: Dc the next [2] sts together - * ch 5 - turn - working in beginning ch - [YO - insert hook - pull up a loop - YO - draw through 2 loops on hook - [2] times - YO - draw through all 3 loops on hook] - dc the next [3] sts together * - repeat across - finish off white yarn.

With White yarn - starting at crown - ch 4 - join to form a circle - ch 3.

R1: Work 9 dcs in center of circle - join - ch 2. (10) sts

R2: Sc in same space - 2 scs in @ st around - join - ch 2. (20) sts

R3: Working in back loops only - sc in @ st around - join - drop white yarn.

R4: Join Petal Pink yarn to lower center back st with a ch 3 - dc in @ st around - join - finish off pink yarn.

R5: Pick up White yarn - in lower center back st - ch 2 - sc in @ st around - join - ch 2.

R6: Sc in same space - 2 scs in @ st around - join - ch 3. (40) sts

R7: * 2 Dcs in the next st - dc in the next st * - repeat around - join - ch 4. (60) sts

R8: * Working in front loops only - * skipping the next st - [sc - ch 3] in the next st * - repeat around - join - finish off white yarn.

R8: Working in back loops only of R8 - join Pink yarn to center back st with a ch 3 - * skipping the next st - [sl st - ch 3] in next st * - repeat around - join - finish off pink yarn.

Feather [Make 2]

Using Petal Pink yarn - cut 1 - 5" thread [Stem] - cut 8 - 3" threads.

With Stem length - tie a knot 1/4" from upper end.

Knot @ 3" thread around stem - pushing up snuggley to the 1st knot - place a 2^nd knot immediatly below the last 3" thread.

Trim all threads except the long end of stem - to a 1/2".

Unravel all yarn plys - bushing gently with soft brush for feathering.

Attach to Hat R4.
