Striped Suit Dress & Derby Hat

Materials Needed:

Size 00 Crochet Hook

2 Ounces of 4 Ply Yarn – Red – White - Royal

4" Piece of ¼" Elastic

Starting at upper edge – with White yarn - ch 22 – join to form a circle – drop white yarn.

R1: Join Red yarn – ch 2 – sc in @ st around – join – drop red yarn. (22) sts

R2: Pick up White yarn – ch 2 – sc in @ st around – join – drop white yarn.

R3-R6: Repeat R1-R2. End of R6 – finish off both red & white yarns.

R7: Join Royal yarn to lower center back st with a ch 2 – working over an elastic circle at the same time – sc in @ st around – join – ch 3.

R8-R13: Dc in @ st around – join – ch 3; End of R13 – do not join – turn – ch 2.

R14: Trim – Working to your right (backward sc) – sc in @ st – join – finish off blue yarn.

Strap

R1: Join White yarn to upper center back st with a ch 2 – sc in the next 2 sts – ch 8 – skipping the next 5 sts – sc in the next 6 sts – ch 8 – skipping the next 5 sts – sc in the remaining 3 sts – join – ch 2.

R2: Working to your right (backward sc) sc in @ st around – join – finish off white yarn.

Jacket

Starting at lower edge – with Royal yarn – ch 26 loosely – turn – dc in the 4^th ch from hook.

R1: Dc in @ ch across – turn – ch 3. (24) sts

R2: Dc in the next 3 sts – ch 6 – skipping the next 3 sts – dc in the next 10 sts – ch 6 – skipping the next 3 sts – dc in the remaining 4 sts – turn – ch 2. (36) sts

R3: Dc in the next 2 sts - * dc the next (2) sts together – dc in the next st * - repeat across to the last 3 sts – dc the next (2) sts together – hdc in the last st – turn – ch 2.

R4: Trim – working to your right (backward sc) – sc in @ st around outside edge – join – finish off blue yarn. (54) sts

Derby Hat

With Royal yarn – ch 3 – join to form a circle - ch 2.

R1: Work 4 scs in the center of circle – join – ch 2. (5 sc)

R2: Dc in same space - * 2 dcs in next st * - repeat around – join – ch3. (10 sc)

R3: Repeat R2 – join – ch 2. (20 sc)

R4-R7: Sc in @ st around – join – ch2.

R8: Sc in same space - * 2 scs in @ st around – join – finish off blue yarn. (40 sc)

R9: Trim – with right side of hat facing - join White yarn to R7 – working across the top of work – sl st into @ st around – join – finish off white yarn.
