Ruffled Top & Skirt &with Hat

Materials Needed:

Size E Crochet Hook

2 Ounces of 4 Ply Yarn – Petal Pink - Burgundy

4" – ¼" Elastic – sewn into a circle.

Top

With Petal Pink yarn – starting at the upper edge - ch 22 - join to form a circle - ch 3.

R1-R3: Dc in @ st around – join – ch 3. End of R3 – ch 2. (22) sts

R4: Sc in @ st around – join – finish off pink yarn. (33) sts

Front Trim

Join Petal Pink yarn between the 2 upper center front sts with a ch 3 - * working between the center 2 front sts of row below – [sc – ch 2 – sc] – ch 3 * - repeat 4 times total - finish off pink yarn.

Strap

R1: Join Petal Pink yarn to the upper center back st with a ch 2 – sc in the next 2 sts – ch 8 – skipping the next 5 sts – sc in the next 6 sts – ch 8 - skipping the next 5 sts – sc in the remaining 3 sts – join – ch 3.

R2: Neck Ruffle – [sc – ch 3] in the same space - * skipping the next st – [sc – ch 2 – sc] in the next st – ch 3 * - repeat around – join – finish off pint yarn.

Sleeves

R1: Join Petal Pink yarn to the center underarm st with a ch 3 – dc in the next 2 sts - * dc the next [2] sts together – dc in the next st * - repeat 3 times total – dc in the remaining st – join – ch 3. (10) sts

R2-R3: Dc the next [2] sts together – dc in the remaining sts around – join – ch 3. (9)(8) sts

R4: Dc in @ st around – join – ch 3.

R5: Sleeve Ruffle – [sc – ch 3] in the same space - * skipping the next st – [sc – ch 2 – sc] in the next st – ch 3 * - repeat around – join – finish off pink yarn.

Repeat for 2^nd Sleeve.

Skirt

With Burgundy yarn – ch 2 – working over an elastic circle at the same time – 21 scs – join – ch 3.

R1-R6: Dc in @ st around – join – ch 3. End of R6 – ch 1. (22) sts

R7: Sl st through @ st around – join – finish off burgundy yarn.

Hat

With Burgundy yarn – starting at the crown – ch 3 – join to form a circle – ch 2.

R1: work 9 scs in the center of circle – join – ch 3. (10) sts

R2: Dc in the same space – 2 dcs in @ st around – join – ch 2. (20) sts

R3: Working in the back loops only – sc in @ st around – join – ch 3.

R4: Dc in @ st around – join – ch 3.

R5: Working in the front loops only – dc in the same space – * dc in the next st – 2 dcs in the next st * - repeat around – join – ch 2. (30) sts

R6: Brim Edging – Working in the front loops only – sc in @ st around – join – finish off burgundy yarn.

Flower Trim – With Petal Pink yarn – leaving a 3" thread – ch 11 – turn – sc in the 5^th ch from hook – ch 3 - * skipping the next ch – [sc – ch 2 [ sc] – ch 3 in the next ch * - repeat 2 times total – [sc – ch 2 – sc] in the last ch - finish off pink yarn – leaving a 3" thread. Roll into flower shape – tie off.

Feather Trim – With Petal Pink yarn – cut a 3" stem – cut 6 – 2" feathers veins. Place a knot ¼" from 1^st end of stem thread – knot @ 2" thread around stem – pushing to upper knot – place a 2^nd knot immediately below last 2" thread. Trim all but the long stem end to ¼" length – unravel @ ply for feathering effect.

Attach flower over feather on either side of Hat – between R4 /R5.
