Faux Wraparound Dress & Hat
Materials Needed:
Size E Crochet Hook
2 oz. 4 Ply Yarn – Navy - White
4" of ¼" elastic – sewn into a circle
Test Gauge: 4 rows = 2" x 8 sts = 2"
Dress Skirt
With White yarn - starting at waist – ch 22 – join to form a circle.
R1: Working over an elastic circle at the same time - sc in @ st around - join - finish off white yarn. (22 dc)
R2: Join Navy yarn to the lower center back st with a ch 3 - dc in @ st around - join - ch 3.
R3-R6: Dc in @ st around - join - ch 3. End of R6 - finish off navy yarn.
Skirt Trim - With front of work facing - join White yarn to the 14th st of R6 with a ch 1 - work 2 sl sts over @ previous dc row to waist - finish off white yarn. Weave in all yarn ends and trim.
Bow - Cut a 6" length of White yarn - thread through R1 - just above the finish of skirt trim - tie into a small bow - trim ends.
Dress Top
With front of work facing - join Navy yarn to the 11th unused loop of beginning ch with a ch 3 - dc in @ unused loop around - join - ch 3. (22) sts
R2: Dc in @ st around - join.
R3: Sl st into the next st - ch 3 - * holding last loop on hook - dc in the next 3 sts - wrap yarn around hook and work off all loops on hook * - ch 1 - hdc in the next 14 sts - ch 1 - repeat *---* - ch 3 - join to last st of R2 with a sl st - finish off navy yarn. (20) sts
Top Trim + Strap - With front of work facing - join White yarn with a ch 1 to Skirt R1 - immediately below joining st of Top R1 - work 2 sl sts over @ dc row of Top to 1st ch 3 of R3 - sc in the next 3chs - sc in the next 2 sts - ch 6 - skipping the next 4 sts - sc in the next 6 sts - ch 6 - skipping the next 4 sts - sc in the next 2 sts - turn - sc in @ of the 2nd ch 3 of R3 - join - finish off white yarn.
Hat
With Navy yarn - ch 3 - join to form a circle - ch 3.
R1: Work 9 dcs in the center of the circle - join - ch 2. (10) sts
R2: Sc in the same space - 2 scs in @ st around - join - ch 2. (20) sts
R3: Working in back loops only - sc in @ st around - join - ch 3.
R4: Dc in @ st around - join - ch 3.
R5: Working in the front loops only - * 2 dcs in the next 2 sts - dc in the next st * - repeat around - join - ch 3. (33) sts
R6: * 2 Dcs in the next st - dc in the next st * - repeat around - join - finish off navy yarn. (49) sts
R7: Join White yarn to center back st with a ch 2 - sc in @ st around - join - finish off white yarn.
