Dress worked Side to Side

Materials Needed:

Size E Crochet Hook

2oz. 4 Ply Yarn – Pumpkin – Pale Yellow

Dress

Starting at the center back side edge – upper body – with Pumpkin yarn – ch 23 – turn – hdc in the 3^rd ch from hook.

R1: Hdc in the next 5 chs – sc in the next 3 chs – dc in the remaining 12 chs – turn – ch 3. (21) sts

R2: Dc in the next 11 sts – hdc in the next 3 sts – dc in the remaining 6 sts – turn – ch 2.

R3: Hdc in the next 5 sts – sc in the next 3 sts – dc in the remaining 12 sts – turn – ch 3.

R4-R13: Repeat alternating R2 / R3. Ending at hemline – on R13 – no ch.

Assembling

Hold Dress together bottom to top – wrong side of work facing – sl st through both layers in @ st along center back seam – finish off pumpkin yarn. Turn work to right side.

Straps

R1: Join Pumpkin yarn to upper center back st with a ch 2 – work 20 scs evenly spaced around upper edge of Dress [ 1 sc in @ hdc row - 2 scs in @ dc row + 1 sc in center back seam joining] – join – ch 2.

R2: Sc in the next 2 sts – ch 8 – skipping the next 4 sts – sc in the next 6 sts – ch 8 – skipping the next 4 sts – sc in the remaining 3 sts – join – finish off pumpkin yarn.

Hat

With Pumpkin yarn – starting at the crown – ch 4 – join to form a circle – ch 3.

R1: Work 9 dcs in the center of the circle – join – ch 3. (10) sts

R2: Dc in the same space – 2 dcs in @ st around – join – ch 2. (20) sts

R3: Dc in @ st around – join – ch 2.

R4: Sc in @ st around – join – finish off pumpkin yarn.

Flower Trim

With Pale Yellow yarn – leaving a 3" thread - ch 3 – turn – sc in the beginning ch.

R1: * Sl – sc * - repeat 3 times total in the same space – join – finish off yellow yarn – leaving a 3" thread. (4) petals

Attach to either side of Hat on R3 – trim yarn ends.
